BIOGRAPHY

I work as an actor and voice-over artist represented by the premier voice agency RMK Management. I studied acting in Melbourne, New York, London and Sydney.

I feel so privileged to do the work I love. I’ve done literally thousands of voice-overs, worked in television, on stage, recorded countless audio books and performed a one-woman show Still Life at The Stables Theatre as well as being the voice for NSW Trains across the State.

I’ve had some dream jobs such as playing Lulu in Bananas in Pajamas for 10 years (voicing Lulu as well as performing in a sweaty, synthetic fur bear suit) We had so much fun! Oh the stories I could tell … but truthfully, I prefer to tell your story, or the stories crafted by the world’s authors and biographers.

For a little snapshot into my life as the voice of NSW Trains have a read here.

  2. Dear Taylor,
4.5 hours in to ‘The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society’ and had to press pause to sms you! Old/young, male/female, french/english, every voice is so genuine.

  3. I got to meet the divine audiobook narrator of The Coast Taylor Owynns at the launch at Kinokuniya this week. She is the best in the business, if you listen to the audiobook of The Coast you will be in for a treat.

    Eleanor Limprecht - Author

  4. I heard a sample of you reading The Coast – the last scene where Alice slips away. One word: Wow.
    You gave me goosebumps.

Chiara Priorelli - Acquisitions Manager - Wavesound

  5. I just want you to know that I am so appreciative of the performance you bring to your audiobook narrations. Your prep is evident and it makes me confident that what we are delivering is the best we can do.

  6. I have just finished listening to The Weekend by Charlotte Wood, narrated by Taylor Owynns. Taylor’s narration was superb and really enhanced my enjoyment of the book. I listen to quite a lot of books and the narration can really detract from the experience when words are mispronounced or it does not flow naturally . This was narrated so beautifully I was sad to finish it.

  8. Taylor was the perfect narrator of Charlotte Wood’s novel ‘The Weekend’. She reads with such expression, and brought wonderful humour and depth to the story. I was devastated when it ended and was tempted to listen to it all over again just to keep her voice in my ears!

  11. At this time I am simply sending this message as a gesture of thanks and admiration for your exquisite reading of The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society on spoken word CD’s. I heard excerpts from the work on my local ABC radio, and although not visually impaired, your vocal treatment of the book was so entrancing I simply had to obtain it. As a baby boomer with eclectic tastes I would not have thought to purchase the book, but your readings have the CD’s sitting proudly on my workstation for spirit raising tonics at a moment’s notice.

  12. I wish to say how wonderful Taylor’s Reading of J Parker’s memoir THE LONG GOODBYE was. I have listened to it twice in a matter of two weeks on Audible. I loved the writing of this memoir and especially the raw telling of it by you. Congratulations on a moving and humorous reading!
