Chris’ voice box is like an oak barrel, and those toasty vocal chords steeped inside just keep developing as the years go on. With 15 years experience as a voice over artist and radio presenter, he certainly brings a seasoned skill set. Deep honeyed tones, colourful vibrancy and a a good pinch of spice.
Able to bring his smooth and steady assurance to corporate and commercial reads; he is on the flipside, a cartoon junkie – relishing any opportunity to catch the latest toons with his kids and follow up with plenty of impressions. Adding this character mosaic to his arsenal makes him pure dynamite in the studio. A true vocal Jekyll and Hyde who feels totally at home behind the mic.
Having been the head promo producer at Sydney’s iconic FBi Radio, directing voice talent was a daily task.
He’s continued on as a freelancing sound engineer since 2012 which makes him a very aware and understanding talent on both sides of the glass.
With a super specific brief and voice in mind, one listen to Chris’ voice and I knew we’d found our guy. His tone, authenticity and that hint of playful spirit you can hear coming through… wow. And it was an absolute pleasure to work with him. Easy, professional, effortless. The project was a love note to vets and pets, and Chris’ cat even managed to play a role, making it a family effort. It was a dream from start to finish and we had some rather fabulous conversations about cats too.
