There is specific taxation legislation for clients who engage ‘performing artists’ to work on ‘promotional material’. This is updated fairly regularly on the ATO website, so you should check in advance of engaging talent. As a client engaging talent, you will need to determine how the artist is being engaged (usually as a contractor or employee) and then what obligations you may have as a result of this engagement. RMK Management is not a ‘labour hire agency’, so any insurance, tax, superannuation obligations that may exist as a result of your engagement of RMK talent, should be investigated prior to the services being provided. RMK Management cannot provide tax, super or insurance advice and suggest clients seek professional assistance on such matters before any bookings are made.
