Luke Downs

Luke’s first job after school was as a Black Thunder Pilot for 2DayFM.  This was Luke’s dream job, so he felt at the time there was little else to accomplish in his career. 

After some years though, Luke began to think maybe there’s more to life than giving out icy cold cans of coke to thirsty listeners and firing t-shirts into screaming crowds – so Luke decided to travel the world in search of his dream job.  Luke managed bars in Far North Queensland, drove cars across North America and was a pretty successful “car phone” salesman in London. 

When Luke landed back in Sydney he took up an opportunity to become an agent at RMK and it was here that he found his real dream job.  Sure there were no t-shirt canons, but he found himself surrounded by wonderful people. The staff were great (some of whom are still around today), the artists were not only very talented, but also a tonne of fun and the clients were welcoming and appreciative… it was challenging, exciting and rewarding… and still is! 

A passion for photography, a penchant for poetry an enthusiasm for sudoku and musical ability… Luke has none of these qualities or interests. But listening to a great commercial read or promo, discovering incredible new talent, implementing a new feature in a software program or creating other efficiencies in the business is what drives Luke. 

When he’s not in the office, listening to demos or behind a screen, Luke tends to his family and garden – both of which require a lot of work. His favourite thing to do is be with his family… ideally camping with them somewhere on a beach.
